WHAT ARE OMBRE POWDER BROWS?

Powder Brows are a form of semi-permanent makeup (cosmetic tattoo). This process implants pigment under the surface of the skin. By using this technique, the result is a soft, powdery makeup look. By brushing and inserting pigment into the skin, we build the pigment layer by layer producing a gradient of color – from dark to medium to light.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POWDER BROWS AND MICROBLADING?

A soft, misty, powder filled brow similar to the look of makeup meaning the tails of the brow are darker, and fade into a light start to the brow, giving it a very subtle look. Over time, pigment fades leaving the skin and your natural brows behind – lighter at the bulb (front) of the brow and going darker towards the tail.

Microblading is deposited much deeper into your skin and is done in hair like strokes. The healing time is longer with this technique and is not advised for oily or acne prone skin.

HOW LONG WILL MY EYEBROWS LOOK THIS GOOD?

Powder Brow treatments are considered semi-permanent. Most clients have powder brows that look great for two to three years.

WILL POWDER BROWS WORK WELL FOR ME?

  • Do you prefer the look of natural, soft brows that will be perfectly designed for you?
  • Are you interested in saving time in your daily beauty routine?
  • Perfect for ALL skin types
  • Great for those with little or no hair.
  • Ideal for coverups or corrections*

PLEASE NOTE:

If you have had your eyebrows previously tattooed and are interested in a cover-up/re-work, you MUST text us a selfie (natural lighting, full-face, no make-up; no filter) to our Facebook or Instagram with your full name and service type (ombre powder brows). Please do not book an appointment without our go-ahead. We cannot guarantee results for cases such as these and we must approve that your eyebrows are workable. In some cases where the previous work is too dark, dense, discolored, or large, tattoo removal will be highly recommended before we begin the cover-up/re-work. Previously tattooed areas and cover-ups will almost always require additional touch-ups for best results and will be charged accordingly.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?

Our pricing includes two separate sessions (generally 2-3 months apart): The initial procedure and the second session for touchups, if needed. Immediately after the procedure, the brows will look darker/thicker, and will gradually lighten during the first week of healing. Most clients are content with the final shade, while others may prefer a bolder appearance. At the second session, we will assess the color retention as well as make changes as needed. It is important to understand that everyone heals differently and results will vary from client to client.  If your new eyebrows do not recover perfectly the very first time, do not fret! We can always go darker and add more thickness at your touchup appointment.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?

The entire procedure takes about one hour (including consultation).

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Unfortunately, not everyone is a good candidate for semi-permanent makeup. It is not recommended for any clients who are or have:

  • Glaucoma and those who are taking blood thinning medicines (e.g. Aspirin)
  • Chemotherapy and Other Cancer Treatments (please consult your doctor)
  • Diabetic (please consult your doctor)
  • Keloid Disorder
  • Viral Infections and/or Diseases
  • Pacemaker or major heart problems

  • Those on any skin medication such as Roaccutane, steroids which thin and oversensitive the skin.
  • AHA’s (lactic, glycolic, citric, retinoid a d tartaric acids) or any OTC creams and lotions for tone correcting, anti-aging, exfoliating – fading can discolor your semi-permanent makeup.
  • Juvaderm or other “fillers” in the past 4 weeks.
  • Shingles (Varicella): If you have shingles on your face, please wait several months to get semi-permanent makeup.

WHAT FACTORS WILL AFFECT MY COSMETIC TATTOO?

  • Following the pre-care and post-care instructions is a MUST!
  • Sunlight exposure: The sunlight will incredibly soften the look of your eyebrows, so sunscreen needs to be made use of (as soon as recovered) to prolong your enhancement.
  • The regrowth of skin cells: The longer the regeneration takes, the longer the pigment holds.
  • The speed at which the skin absorbs the pigment: The slower the absorption, the longer the pigment will hold.
  •  The selection of color: Some color fade quicker than others, e.g. a blonde color will fade quicker than a dark brown color.
  • The location of therapy: Enhancements to the face, as an example, fade faster as a result of constant direct exposure.
  • Bleeding throughout the procedure: Any bleeding during the tattooing treatment will lower the amount of pigment absorption.
  • Alcohol, as well as particular medications, work as blood-thinners and must not be taken a day or two before and after your procedure.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET TATTOOED?

You must be 18 years or older to receive a tattoo service at BrowsBy_Tram.  If you are under the age of 18 (a minor), please have your parent or legal guardian contact us on Facebook or Instagram for more information.

HOW WILL I LOOK IMMEDIATELY AFTER? WHAT IS THE HEALING PROCESS?

Your semi-permanent make-up will appear darker and also bolder than expected for the first few days. This will slowly lighten during the full healing process. Inflammation, as well as swelling, is visible. To learn more about the healing process, click here.

WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

We have detailed post-care information here. It is highly beneficial to follow these instructions to ensure a comfortable healing process and to achieve the best results.

HOW WILL MY EYEBROWS LOOK IN THE FUTURE?

During your visit, we will mix pigments to ensure the shade blends well with your existing eyebrows and hair color. Most brows will stay true to the original tattoo shade (when healed) for a year or more, but will naturally fade over time. There are some cases, however, where colors may fade to different tones due to the client’s response to specific pigments (genetics, iron deficiencies, lifestyle, etc.). To keep your eyebrows looking their best, a refresher treatment is recommended every 1 to 2 years. It is important to remember that results will vary from client to client.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT LONG TERM CARE?

A good sunscreen should be applied daily AFTER healing and is required to help keep color true. As with any tattoo, sun exposure will make the color fade faster.

Fading speed depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, pigment color used, broken capillaries, and if any chemical peels were done after your procedure.

If you are planning a chemical peel, laser treatment or other medical procedure, please inform the technician that you have had a cosmetic tattoo. A careful application must be taken to avoid affecting the tattooed area.

DO YOU TATTOO MENS EYEBROWS?

We are happy to accommodate consultations for men interested in cosmetic tattooing.

IS THE STUDIO AND EQUIPMENT SAFE?

Yes, we pride ourselves in having state-of-the-art equipment, as well as a safe and sterile studio space. We only use single-use, disposable needles, and supplies. After every client, all needles are discarded safely and stations are thoroughly disinfected.
